Temperatures are expected to drop as the week progresses, and the Wyoming Valley could also see some rain and snow.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 45 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog and mist was reported.

Patchy fog and a slight chance of showers is possible before 8 a.m. this morning. Otherwise, cloudy skies will gradually become mostly sunny today. The high will climb to near 50 by 8 a.m. then gradually fall to around 41.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with a low around 30.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 35. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 26.

Snow showers are likely before 1 p.m. Thursday, followed by a chance of rain and snow showers for the remainder of the day. No precipitation amounts have been predicted, and the high will be near 37.

Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, along with a 20 percent chance of snow showers. The low will be around 28.
