WILKES-BARRE — The chance for rain and snow will linger in the Wyoming Valley as the weekend approaches.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 36 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.
Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 44.
Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, along with a 50 percent chance of showers after 10 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and the low will be around 40.
Thursday is expected to bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. Less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and winds could also gust as high as 28 mph. The high will be near 46.
A slight chance of rain showers is expected early Thursday night, followed by a slight chance of rain and snow overnight. The low will be around 31.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected to round out the week on Friday, with a high near 36. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 27.
