Lauren Lanzendorfer, a sophomore from Jenkins Twp., anchored the Scranton Prep 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams to titles Feb. 18 at the Leslie Richards Swimming Invitational at Scranton High School.
Lanzendorfer also reached the finals of the 200 individual medley, finishing third.
Pittston Area did not have a swimming finalist in the meet.
The Lady Patriots had their best finish come in the opening 200 medley relay where Juliet Lawler, Olivia Norwillo, Erin Senese and Kiersten Grieco finished eighth out of 12.
Mackenzie Connors had the top individual finish for Pittston Area, placing 12th out of 37 entries in the 100 backstroke.
Pittston Area’s Madi Osticco finished fourth in the diving competition, which was held Feb. 17.
The week ahead
The District 2 Swimming Championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
Class 2A, which includes Wyoming Area and Scranton Prep among the 16 teams, will start at noon each day.
Class 3A is a District 2-4 Subregional with Williamsport included in the competition. Pittston Area is one of seven teams entered in girls and has just individuals competing among the boys.
The Class 3A competition starts each day at 6 p.m.
Diving, where Osticco was the defending district champion, was scheduled to be conducted Feb. 25. Results were not available at presstime.
