Gregory S. Wolovich Jr., of Newport Township, has announced he is running for Luzerne County Council as a Republican.

A lifelong county resident, Wolovich, 24, graduated from GAR Memorial High School in Wilkes-Barre and obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King’s College.

Wolovich has worked in customer service at Wegmans for eight years and at the Wegmans Warehouse for more than a year. In these positions, he said he has worked in multiple production environments, monitoring inventory and sales numbers, using company software programs.

“This involves great precision and accuracy, or the needs of the customers cannot properly be met,” he wrote. “With my experience in these areas, I really want to work on having at least a week-to-week update on where county funds are going and making sure they reach their proper destinations.”
