KoC holds bowling tournament

WILKES-BARRE — Knights of Columbus Council 372, based in Pittston, held the Tom Redding Memorial Bowling Tournament on Feb. 11 at Chacko’s Family Bowling Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Winners were Chuck Simalchik, high game 278; John Tomkoski, high handicap game 275; Owen Moran, high handicap series 738; Jack Casper, high series 760.

WILKES-BARRE — Kristen Santey, Pittston, is completing a student teaching assignment this semester at Wyoming Valley West district.

Santey is a Wilkes University education major and student teaching is one of the requirements for earning teacher certification in Pennsylvania.

Emmett named to deans list

COLLEGEVILLE — James Emmett, Pittston, was recently named to the deans list for the 2016 fall semester at Ursinus College

Emmett, a 2014 Pittston Area graduate, is a junior majoring in physics and is the son of Ralph and Juliann Emmett.

Pittston residents names to deans list

ROCHESTER, NY — Pittston residents James Astolfi and Alia Gestl were recently named to the deans list for the 2016 fall semester at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Astolfi is studying in the game design and development program while Gestl is studying in the illustration program.
