It is shaping up to be a wet and cool weekend in the Wyoming Valley.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 50 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and light rain/fog was reported.
Rain is expected before 3 p.m. today, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Rain will then be likely, along with a possible thunderstorm, after 5 p.m. Winds could also gust as high as 23 mph today, and up to a half an inch of rain could fall. Today’s high will be near 64.
Rain will continue to be likely before 10 p.m. tonight, along with a possible thunderstorm before 10 p.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain could fall, but more could fall in potential thunderstorms. Tonight’s low will be around 55.
Saturday will once again bring a 90 percent chance of showers, and up to a quarter of an inch of rain could fall. Winds could also gust as high as 21 mph. Saturday’s high will be near 59.
Showers will persist before 8 p.m. on Saturday night, but less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall is expected. The low will be around 43.
Cloudy skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. The high will be near 51.
Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Sunday night, along with a chance of rain before 3 a.m. and a slight chance of rain and snow into Monday morning. The low will be around 37.
