Alfano receives Fulbright award
WILKES-BARRE — James Alfano Jr., of Pittston, a student at Wilkes University, has received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Taiwan in Education from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
Alfano will support the teaching of English at Hualien City School Districts as part of a project to further promote cultural understanding and language instruction to Taiwanese students at their respective schools. He is one of over 1,900 U.S. citizens who will conduct research, teach English, and provide expertise abroad for the 2018-2019 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

BALTIMORE, M.D. — William Walsh, Pittston, received a BBA degree in Business Administration at Loyola University Maryland’s 166th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 19.
