Avoca/Dupont LL meeting July 8

AVOCA — The Avoca/Dupont Little League will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 8 at the little league field.

Among the items to be discussed will be the All-Stars and fall ball, as well as the regular league business.

All coaches are required to attend the meeting.

Anyone wishing to volunteer, as well as anyone generally interested in the league, is welcome to attend.

WA Baseball Camp is July 16-19

EXETER — Wyoming Area Baseball will hold its Summer Baseball Camp from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 16 to Thursday, July 19.

This camp is for boys and girls ages 6 to 14.

WA Football Alumni golf outing is July 21

EXETER — The Wyoming Area Football Alumni Association will hold a golf outing Saturday, July 21 at Four Seasons Golf Club.

Cost is $85 per golfer which includes 18 holes with cart, Captain & Crew format, food, refreshments, entertainment and prizes.

Event begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

All golfers must pre-register and pre-pay by making cheks payable to WA Football Alumni Association by mailing them to Independent Graphics, Inc., P.O. Box 173 Pittston, PA 18640 ATTN: Bikes.

Returns must be made by Sunday, July 1.

Stan Waleski basketball camp registrations underway

LAFLIN — Registrations for the Stan Waleski Basketball Camp will conclude Friday, Aug. 3

This camp is for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through 8 and will be held at the St. Joseph’s Oblates gym in Laflin.

The camp stresses skills, fundamentals, competitions, team play and fun with all players receiving a camp t shirt and certificate. The camp also features grouping by age and grade in boys and girls divisions.

Miles for Michael is Aug. 18

PITTSTON — The Miles for Michael/ Tomato Festival 5K and Fun Walk will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 with a 10 a.m. start from the Greater Pittston YMCA, Main Street.
