WEST PITTSTON — First United Methodist Church West Pittston will hold its Annual Apple Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the main room of the church at 408 Wyoming Ave.

The event, organized by eight committee members, will include a silent auction run by Kris Tokash and Pat Fumanti, a bake sale assisted by Sue Williams, a jewelry sale led by Phyllis Bell, a book sale put together by Ethel Orel and Linda Burritt, and a plant sale managed by Grace Klinefelder. Apple Festival Coordinator Kelly Dushok will spearhead a giant flea market with tables of treasures as far as the eye can see in the back of the church.

Church member Warren Pollard, with assistance from Glenn Miller, with take charge of the kitchen to provide food offerings of whimpies, halushki, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, soda, and, of course, apple dumplings and pies, made with apples harvested from a local farmer. Once again, Class 18 will sell its famous Welsh cookies.

Proceeds from the Festival allow First United Methodist Church West Pittston to continue to provide charitable services to the community. Off-street parking and spaces in the Montgomery Area Grade School lot next to the church will be available.
