Barber recognized
BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University student-athlete Allison Barber, of Pittston Twp., was recognized by the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) for outstanding work in the classroom by being named one of the recipients of the 2018-19 Academic Achievement Award.
Locals graduate from Wilkes
WILKES-BARRE — Several Greater Pittston residents were among Wilkes University students awarded 425 doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s degrees to students graduating at the summer commencement ceremony held on Sept. 8.
• Melissa Cencetti, of Pittston, received a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership/Educational Leadership Studies.
• Alan Hanczyc, of Hughestown, received a Master of Science in Education.
• Katelyn Kovaleski, of Avoca, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Nursing.
• Mandy LaMarca, of Pittston, received a Master of Science in Education.
• Christine Martin, of Avoca, received a Master of Science in Education.
• Luciana Musto, of Pittston, received a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
