Phoenix Kids will present “Beauty and the Beast” from March 13 through March 22 at the Phoenix Performing Arts Centre in Duryea.

This timeless classic will be presented by more than 40 kids ages 5 to 14. It is a full-length production about the young Prince and his castle’s servants who fall under the spell of a wicked enghantress, who turns him into the hideous Beast until he learns to love and be loved in return.

The spirited, headstrong village firl Belle enters the Beast’s cast after he imprisons her father Maurice. With the help of his enchanted servants including Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs.Potts, Chip, Babette and Madame Wardrobe, Belle begins to draw the cold-hearted Beast out of isolation before the last petal of the enchanted rose falls and turns them into objects and him to remain a Beast forever.

Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7 p.m., while Sunday matinees willbe at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for kids under 5. They are available at the door or by calling the box office at 570-457-3589 for reservations.
