Kaz Colbert returned a third-quarter interception 90 yards to break a tie and send West Scranton on its way to a 20-7 victory at Old Forge in a non-league opener between Lackawanna Football Conference schools.

The visiting Invaders, who are coached by Old Forge graduate Jake Manetti, were winless a year ago and used the victory to break a 12-game losing streak.

West Scranton jumped in front early after opening the game with a defensive stop and taking advantage of a short Old Forge punt.

Dayron Groves scored from the 4 for a 7-0 lead 5:12 into the game.

Will Wozniak blocked a punt and recovered the ball in the end zone early in the second quarter for the only Old Forge touchdown.

Old Forge drove the ball for 14 plays and 80 yards in the third quarter and was threatening to move in front when Colbert stepped in front of a fourth-down pass and went the other way for the winning score.

Jake DeLuca hit Cayden Farr with a six-yard touchdown pass to complete the scoring.

Rylan Gutowski led the Old Forge ground game with 55 yards on 18 carries. Chris Rasmus caught five passes for 29 yards. Monty Fausnaught came up with two interceptions.
