Wyoming Area softball player Gwen Glatz announced the decision to continue her academic and athletic careers at Swarthmore College during a signing ceremony at the school this spring. Glatz was a four-year starter as a pitcher/infielder. She was the team’s top pitcher this season, along with leading the offense in runs scored with 16 and ranking second with a .421 batting average. She was 7-4 with a 2.61 earned run average. For her career, Glatz made 72 pitching appearances, including 59 as a starter. She went 42-23 with 10 shutouts, two saves and a 1.98 earned run average while striking out 296 in 420 1/3 innings in her career. She batted .364 with 25 doubles, seven homers, 51 runs scored and 61 RBI.
