Pittston Area and Wyoming Area each had both of their teams eliminated in the first round of the District 2 girls tennis doubles tournament Tuesday.
Wallenpaupack’s Liz Lewis-Rebecca Husson defeated Pittston Area’s Megan Kapacs-Quinn Carden, 6-2, 6-2, and Scranton’s Maia Phillips-Julia Bergman topped Pittston Area’s Karma Gambardella-Laura Farber, 6-2, 6-1, in the Class 3A tournament at North Pocono Middle School.
In Class 2A at Kirby Park, Berwick’s Ellie Kozak-Isa Segura eliminated Wyoming Area’s Kaitlyn Slusser-Alana Aufiere and Gisele Falcone-Erin McGee from Holy Cross shut out Cadance Cable-Ava Vacula from Wyoming Area, 6-0, 6-0.
