Wyoming Area and Pittston Area each posted Wyoming Valley Conference girls lacrosse wins on consecutive days during the week by putting up at least a dozen goals in each of the games.
Wyoming Area is 9-2-1 in the WVC and 10-2-1 overall after beating Tunkhannock, 17-6, and Wilkes-Barre Area, 16-0, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Pittston Area temporarily moved back above .500 by winning 12-11 over Hazleton Area and 15-7 over Holy Redeemer Monday and Tuesday.
Wyoming Area girls
Wyoming Area junior Sofia Sabatini reached the 100-goal mark for her career during Tuesday’s Senior Day victory over Tunkhannock.
Sabatini went into the game needing six goals to reach the milestone.
The Lady Warriors got goals from 10 different players in the shutout at Wilkes-Barre Area.
Sabatini and Juliana Gonzales led the way with three goals each. Kendall Day and Kayla Harry each scored their first career goal.
Halle Kranson and Gonzales each controlled eight groundballs in the win.
Pittston Area girls
Mia Marriggi had seven goals for Pittston Area Tuesday when the team posted its school-record sixth victory of the season by beating Holy Redeemer.
Tyra Winters added four goals while Jess Ostrowski had three.
Soph Montagna made seven saves.
Pittston Area is 6-6 after losing, 26-3, to Dallas Thursday.
Wyoming Area boys
Lake-Lehman defeated host Wyoming Area, 13-8, Wednesday.
Wyoming Area is 3-6 in the WVC and 3-8 overall.
