Brandon Matthews withdrew from this week’s PGA Tour event six holes into Friday’s second round.
The tour did not release a reason for the withdrawal, but Matthews had to withdraw from a September event because of back problems, which have hindered him at various times during his professional golf career.
Matthews shot a 3-over-par, 74 in Thursday’s first round of he World Wide Technology Championship. The Pittston Area graduate lost four more strokes to par with a double bogey and two bogeys in the six holes he played Friday.
