Brandon Matthews was in danger of falling short of playing in the final two rounds for the fifth time in six starts this season, his first as a member of the PGA Tour.

Matthews was 5-over through eight holes of his second round when play was halted because of rain Friday at the Cadence Bank Houston Open.

The cut after two rounds was projected at even par.

Matthews shot 6-over-par, 76 Thursday, leaving him in 126th place out of 132 entries. He moved up to a tie for 110th with seven pars and a birdie in his first eight holes of the second round.
