Peyton McNulty finished 14th of 24 entries in the 200-yard backstroke when the University of Vermont was placing first out of seven teams at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Rhode Island in November.

Vermont, a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I program, is in a six-week break from competition. It reached the break with a 3-1 record in the America East Conference and 5-3 overall mark.

McNulty, a Scranton Prep graduate from Pittston, is a senior, competing in the backstroke, breaststroke and individual medley or the Catamounts. She has two top-10 individual finishes in the America East Championships during her career.

In Vermont’s most recent outing, a Dec. 3 America East win over Binghamton while losing to UMass in a tri-meet, McNulty was sixth out of 11 in the 200 backstroke and anchored one of Vermont’s medley relay teams.
