Karamia Marranca posted wins in the 500-yard freestyle and 100 breaststroke Tuesday as Wyoming Area closed out its Wyoming Valley Conference girls swimming season with an 80-52 victory over Holy Redeemer.
Ava Menditto won the 200 freestyle and Sofia Sabatini the 100 backstroke. They were each part of the 200 freestyle relay team that added first-place points unopposed.
Bianca Pizano won diving.
Wyoming Area finished 4-7.
Holy Redeemer boys 95, Wyoming Area 36
Ben Canfield was the top Wyoming Area performer with a pair of second-place finishes in freestyle events during Tuesday’s WVC finale.
The Warriors finished 2-9.
District 2 Championships
The diving portion of the District 2 Championships will be conducted Saturday at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center.
The swimming events will be the following weekend at Wilkes-Barre Area High School.
