Defending national champion Marc Minichello is now the Southeastern Conference champion in the javelin.

The Wyoming Area and University of Pennsylvania graduate is competing for the University of Georgia this season as a graduate student transfer.

Minichello threw the javelin 260-10 May 11 in the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Baton Rouge, La.

After four throws, Minichello was still in sixth place, but his fifth attempt moved him into the lead and he won by close to four feet.
