Jules Potter and Hannah Fairchild each had hat tricks and added two assists Friday afternoon as Wyoming Area routed visiting Hanover Area, 11-0, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 girls soccer game at Tenth Street Field.

Potter scored the game’s first goal 2:17 in, then picked up her first assist just 52 seconds later.

Sofia Menta assisted the first goal, then scored twice.

Emily Kostik had a goal and three assists while Ella Shepulski had a goal and two assists.

The Lady Warriors improved to 3-1 in the division and 6-2 overall.

Fabrice Gatsinzi scored a natural hat trick Tuesday to lead Pittston Area to the Division 2 win.

The Patriots led 2-0 before Gatsinzi scored late in the first half and twice midway through the second half for a five-goal lead.

Jacob Ivey scored the first two goals, both on assists from William Egan.

Asher Nichols assisted two Gatsinzi goals and Ivey assisted the other.

Wyoming Area swept doubles and got a three-set victory from Sarah Willison at No. 3 singles Friday to improve its season record to 7-3 with the WVC victory.

Morgan Slusser-Natalie Leibman and Selena Nova-Emily Kratz each won in straight sets. Slusser-Leibman won, 6-0, 6-0.

Wyoming Area 3, Crestwood 2

Sarah Willison rallied for a three-set win at No. 3 singles Wednesday and Wyoming Area again swept doubles to hand Crestwood a second straight loss following a 7-0 start.

Selena Nova-Emily Shulde clinched their No. 2 doubles victory by taking a second-set tiebreaker. Morgan Slusser-Natalie Leibman rolled, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1.

Tunkhannock 3, Pittston Area 2

Pittston Area fell to 2-8 on the season with Friday’s WVC loss.

Emma Kratz, at No. 2 singles, and Morgan Slusser-Natalie Leibman, at No. 1 doubles, each extended the first set to a tiebreaker. Kratz then won the second set to force a third set before losing.

Unbeaten Berwick rolled by set scores of 25-10, 25-3, 25-4 Friday.

Kaylee Gryboski had 12 kills Thursday in Holy Redeemer’s 25-10, 25-7, 25-9 sweep.

Hazleton Area 3, Wyoming Area 0

Hazleton Area swept Wyoming Area, 25-13, 25-13, 25-14, in Tuesday’s WVC match.

Taylor Gashi had three kills, two blocks, three digs and an ace in the loss. Victoria Krupkevich added three blocks and four assists.

Pittston Area pulled out its first victory under new coach Lauren Shovlin during Tuesday’s WVC match with visiting Hanover Area.
