Pittston Area has been selected as the host site for the girls semifinals for the Wyoming Valley Conference Tournament, the WVC basketball committee announced Friday.

According to the announcement, released by Nanticoke athletic director Ken Bartuska, the tournament will be conducted earlier this year because of the earlier dates of the District 2 Championships, which will be played Feb. 25, 26 and 29 at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.

The WVC Tournament will be played on three dates with the girls semifinals, boys semifinals and a championship doubleheader. The exact dates are still to be determined, but will be between Feb. 13 and 17.

Wilkes-Barre Area will host the boys semifinals and Hazleton Area will host the championship doubleheader.
