Dominic Innamorati posted an 18-second pin at 145 pounds Tuesday night and host Pittston Area handed Honesdale a 33-31 defeat in non-league wrestling.
The Hornets were returning to Pittston Area three days after capturing the District 2 Dual Meet Championships title in Class 2A and two days before beginning the state tournament in Hershey.
Pittston Area evened its overall record at 10-10 going into its final two dual meets of the season.
Oscar Ciriaco, at 107 pounds, and Shawn Shimonis, at 133, also had pins for the Patriots.
Tibor Toth (114), Jake Aftewicz (152) and Brody Spindler (215) each provided valuable bonus team points by winning major decisions. All three won by eight points, just enough to earn four team points instead of three.
That was not the only close call the Patriots used to pull out the team victory.
Jahiem Butler managed to win by a one-point decision at 121.
