Pittston Area closed out its Wyoming Valley Conference girls swimming season with three victories, all by at least 49 points, in four days.

The strong closing stretch allowed the Lady Patriots to climb above .500 and finish with a 6-5 WVC record.

Pittston Area 114, Wyoming Valley West 54

Daniela Bermudez won four events to lead Pittston Area to a road victory in Thursday’s finale.

Bermudez won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and was part of wins in both freestyle relays, along with Molly Fetchko.

Fetchko won the 200 freestyle and finished second in the 500 freestyle.

Kate O’Hearn, Gabby Gorzkowski, Brooke Hintze and Kate Kozlowski each were part of one of the relay wins.

Meghan McCawley, O’Hearn and Alex Mortimer finished 1-2-3 in diving where Wyoming Valley West did not have an entry.

Pittston Area 116, Berwick 67

Molly Fetchko won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and led off a win in the 400 freestyle relay to lead Tuesday’s home-pool victory.

Tori Stephenson, who won the 100 breaststroke, and Daniela Bermudez, who won the 500 freestyle, were each also part of a relay win.

Alex Mortimer won diving.

Lake-Lehman 98, Wyoming Area 85

Wyoming Area lost Tuesday’s meet at the Dallas Middle School to fall to 6-4 on the season.

Pittston Area 112, Wilkes-Barre Area 56

Molly Fetchko and Daniela Bermudez each won two individual events and also teamed up on two freestyle relay wins in Monday’s road victory.

Fetchko led off both relays, each of which were anchored by Bermudez. Fetchko won the 200- and 100-yard freestyles while Bermudez won the 500 and 50 freestyles.

Avery Antal won the 100 backstroke and led off the opening 200 medley, which was part of Pittston Area’s sweep of the three relays.

Gabby Gorzkowski was part of two relay wins while Tori Stephenson, Kate Kozlowski, Kate O’Hearn, Brooke Hintze and Maddie George won one each.
