Wyoming Area won every point in straight sets Monday to shut out visiting Pittston Area 5-0 in a Wyoming Valley Conference match.
Emma Kratz and Molly Kratz won the first two singles matches 6-0, 6-1 while Natalie Leibman-Lily Kasa won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Emma Kratz topped Ayla Kreiger. Molly Kratz defeated Ella Siran.
Sarah Willison defeated Gabby Gorzkowski 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Erica Gilligan-Selena Nova won at No. 1 doubles, beating Sophia Montagna-Emily Hannan 6-4, 6-2 in the day’s closest match. Leibman-Kasa defeated Maggie Philbin-Brooke Albertell.
The Lady Warriors are 9-1 in the WVC and 9-2 overall with two matches remaining. They are positioned to host a first-round match in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.
The quarterfinals of the district team tournament are scheduled to get underway Friday.

The Lady Patriots lost Friday’s non-league match to finish their regular schedule with a 5-8 overall record.
Pittston Area is currently positioned to land the eighth and final seed in the District 2 Class 3A tournament, but holding that spot is dependent on the results of other teams that have not completed their schedules.

The Lady Patriots went 5-7 in the conference to finish eighth out of 13 teams.
