Amaya Monacelli scored six goals Thursday when North Pocono defeated Wyoming Area 14-5 in a District 2 Class 2A girls lacrosse quarterfinal.
Lyla Rehill scored three goals and Addison Byers had two for the Lady Warriors, who finished 8-6.
All the previous Wyoming Area games were in the Wyoming Valley Conference where Pittston Area finished 1-12 as part of its 1-13 mark overall.
The Wyoming Area boys went 3-9 in the WVC and 3-11 overall and, like the Pittston Area girls, fell short of the postseason.
