The Greater Pittston Junior American Legion team earned a Wyoming Valley League playoff play-in opportunity by snapping out of a season-long slump with a doubleheader sweep of Tunkhannock June 29 and a forfeit victory Tuesday.
Greater Pittston won at Tunkhannock 9-1 and 15-0.
Greater Pittston broke open a 3-1 game with five runs in the top of the fourth inning in the first of the two scheduled five-inning games.
Nico Baldoni, who scored twice, and Mason Wolf had two hits each.
Gavin Gisolfi drove in two runs and Josh Chaump scored three times.
Gavin Timalonis held Tunkhannock to one run in three innings as starting pitcher. Ben Faulent got the last four outs.
Greater Pittston scored four runs each in the second and third innings then added five runs in the fifth of the nightcap blowout.
Avery Timms and Wolf combined on a three-hitter. Wolf struck out three and gave up just one hit in two scoreless innings.
Chaump went 2-for-3 with two walks, three RBI and two runs scored.
Baldoni and Timms each had a double and three RBI.
Ethan Swan and Gisolfi each had two hits and two RBI.

Wolf scored twice and drove in two runs.
