The Southern Columbia at Wyoming Area football game is back on for Friday night after it was approved by Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference officials on Monday morning.

The PHAC met at Lewisburg High School this morning after Shikellamy made a request to drop Southern Columbia and pick up Holy Redeemer, Wyoming Area’s original opponent. The PHAC denied last week a request from Southern Columbia to make the same schedule switches in order to create more competitive matchups.

The PHAC cited violation of a bylaw stating that all conference games must be played as scheduled. PHAC officials met for over an hour before deciding to allow the schedule switches.

“I think it’s the best for everybody, all four programs involved,” Redeemer athletic director JP Aquillina said.
