Hunter Chervenitski and Selena Forlenza each had seven kills and four digs Tuesday when Wyoming Area swept Meyers, 25-13, 25-20, 25-22, in its Wyoming Valley Conference girls volleyball finale.

The Lady Warriors closed the WVC season with seven straight wins to finish 11-6 and seventh in the 18-team league.

Marissa Kovaleski had 17 assists and Jenna Chackan added five kills in the final win.

Delaware Valley shut out host Pittston Area in WVC play Oct. 19.

Pittston Area fell short of the playoffs, but finished its season on a high note with a 1-0 victory over Nanticoke Oct. 19.

The Patriots went 2-14-1. The win allowed them to finish 2-13-1 in the WVC Division 1 standings, bypassing Nanticoke to place eighth out of nine teams.

Pittston Area 0

Pittston Area lost on the road in its season finale, an Oct. 19 WVC Division 1 game.

The Lady Patriots finished 6-10 in the division, sixth out of nine teams, and went 6-11 overall.
