Wyoming Area had five field hockey players receive all-state recognition after the team’s run to the state quarterfinals in Class A.
Kayla Kiwak and goalie Ellie Glatz were first-team selections in Class A on the team that is selected by the state coaches association.
Kari Melberger and Abby Gober were named to the second team. Lauren Parente received honorable mention.

Wyoming Area’s Brandi Sorokin was on the “visiting” team that won the Wyoming Valley Conference Seniors Girls Volleyball All-Star Match in five sets Dec. 1 at Holy Redeemer.
Sorokin joined players from Nanticoke, Tunkhannock, Delaware Valley and Crestwood.
Pittston Area’s Emily O’Brien played on the home team with seniors from Holy Redeemer, Meyers and Dallas.
