Wyoming Area’s Madelyn Resciniti landed the top seed in two events for Tuesday’s District 2 Class 3A Track and Field Championships at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

Resciniti is seeded first in the shot put and discus.

Seeds are based on top regular-season performances. Resciniti’s 38-6 shot put is two inches better than Hazleton Area’s Keturah LeGette. Her 114-11 discus throw is 4-8 longer than Wallenpaupack’s Liz Desmet.

The Lady Warriors also have Adreanna Cunningham seeded fourth in the 100-meter dash and Toni Minichello seeded fifth in the javelin.

The Pittston Area girls got a preview of a potential exciting conclusion to the meet.

They finished second in the 1600 relay at the Jordan Relays finishing in 4:09.71, a half second behind Abington Heights. Those were the only times under 4:10 this season, leaving Abington Heights seeded first and Pittston Area second in the event.

Pittston Area also has a pair of third seeds.

Giavanna Innamorati is seeded third in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 100 hurdles.

The Lady Patriots are seeded third in the 400 relay.

Nicole Zambetti is seeded fourth in the 800.

Wyoming Area has two highly-seeded sprinters in the Class 3A boys 100-meter dash.

Jevani Sancho is tied for the second seed while Vincenzo Scotto-Diluzio is tied for the fifth seed.

Dominic DeLuca is sixth in the javelin.

The Warriors are tied for sixth in the 400 relay.

Pittston Area’s top boys seed is sixth in the 3200 relay.
