AVOCA — Honors for the first male and female finishers in the second annual Easter Egg Hunt 5K Race sponsored by the Langcliffe Presbyterian Church of Avoca went to borough resident Michael McAndrew and his niece Heather McAndrew.
Michael finished with a time of 19:38 while Heather clocked in at a time of 24:50.
Proceeds from the event held March 25 benefited the Avoca Hose Co. and Ruth’s Place women’s shelter.
The start of the second annual Easter Egg Hunt and 5K race. An uncle and niece pair from Avoca, Michael McAndrew (actual time 19:38) and his niece Heather McAndrew (actual time) 24:50. came in first “Not too bad for an old man and it was hilly,” said McAndrew. Heather drew an egg with – 8 minutes in it.
