The Ed Narkiewicz Wyoming Valley Conference Coaches Cross Country Meet has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday in anticipation of weather issues.

The meet will be held at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds in Mehoopany.

Action begins with the varsity boys race at 3 p.m. It will be followed by varsity girls at 3:45, junior high boys at 4:30, junior high girls at 5 and an awards ceremony.

Individual and team champions will be determined in each race at the meet.

In addition, several dual meets that were postponed during the regular season will be scored at the meet to complete the conference season and determine the final regular-season standings.

The Holy Redeemer girls have already won the conference regular-season title while the boys have clinched at least a tie for first place.

Holy Redeemer went 16-0 to win the girls title. Hazleton Area is currently 12-1, followed by Crestwood at 11-2 and three teams that have completed their schedules – Lake-Lehman (12-4), Hanover Area (12-4) and Wyoming Valley West (11-5).

The Holy Redeemer boys went 15-1, a record Hazleton Area (12-1) can match if it can beat Wyoming Area (11-2), Dallas (10-3) and Wyoming Seminary. Lake-Lehman finished 14-2 and will place no worse than third. Crestwood is currently 11-2 to tie Wyoming Area for fourth.
