Wyoming Area shook off a fast start by visiting Nanticoke Tuesday to remain unbeaten through five non-league boys basketball games with a 73-51 victory.

Drew Keating had a double-double and Luke Kopetchny joined him in scoring 18 points each to lead the Warriors, who trailed 21-16 after one quarter.

Ethan Yendrzeinski had a game-high 27 points for Nanticoke, including eight in the first quarter.

Keating grabbed seven rebounds on the offensive end. He finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Kopetchny added eight rebounds, four assists and two steals to his 18 points.

Shane Pepe made three 3-pointers to account for his nine points while also dishing out four assists.

Mitchell Rusinchak, who finished with 14 points, scored five in the first quarter for Wyoming Area.

Bruno Pizzano joined Keating in helping Wyoming Area control the boards. He had 11 rebounds, six of them offensive.

The Warriors moved ahead at halftime despite shooting 4-for-10 from the line in the second quarter and 6-for-13 for the game.

Keating had six of his points as Wyoming Area took a 30-27 advantage.

Wyoming Area took control with a 26-9 third quarter. Kopetchny had eight points, Rusinchak seven and Keating six in the quarter when Yendrzeinski was the only Trojan to score.

Pizzano scored six of his eight points in the fourth quarter.

North Pocono 49, Pittston Area 45

Cole West scored nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter Thursday night to help North Pocono emerge with a victory at Pittston Area.

Noah DeSantis had seven of his 11 in the quarter for the Trojans, who entered the last eight minutes with just a one-point lead.

Jacob Ivey and Brennan Callahan each had 13 points, including six in the second quarter when Pittston Area cut a 15-8 deficit to 28-24.

The Patriots limited the Trojans to four points in the third quarter to get within 32-31.

Lucas LoPresto added 11 points in the loss.

The Patriots fell to 3-2.

Holy Cross 58, Pittston Area 42

Colin Farrell scored 17 points to lead visiting Holy Cross to Monday’s non-league victory.

Farrell had two of his three 3-pointers as the Crusaders connected from long range four times in the first quarter to take a 20-10 lead.

Thomas Gavin added 15 points.

Lucas LoPresto went 7-for-11 from the line to lead the Patriots with 11 points each.

Jacob Ivey, who did all of his scoring in the second half, and Brennan Callahan scored 10 points each for Pittston Area.

Pittston Area 65, Pottsville Nativity 41

Jacob Ivey scored a team-high 18 points Dec. 6 to lead Pittston Area to the road victory in non-league play.

Ivey, Lucas LoPresto and Aidan Clarke all hit a 3-pointer and scored another basket in the first quarter when the Patriots took a 17-11 lead.

LoPresto had eight of his 16 points and Ivey added seven more as the Patriots ran away for a 39-16 advantage at halftime.

Brennan Callahan had seven of his nine points in the second half. John Jadus had six of his nine in the third quarter.

Clarke finished with seven points, all in the first half.

Trey Keating scored 24 points, but just four in the first half, for Pottsville Nativity BVM.
