Wyoming Area produced eight hits Friday at Nanticoke, but was only able to turn them into a single run in an 8-1 loss to Nanticoke in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 softball game.
The Lady Warriors played three straight days and lost all three to fall to 1-2 in the division and 1-6 overall.
Maggie Hallman, Anna Wisnewski and Cassandra Scripkunas each had two hits in the loss. Wisnewski drove in Hallman for the only run.
Wyoming Area remained within 4-1 until Nanticoke scored four times in the bottom of the sixth.
Lake-Lehman 9, Wyoming Area 4
Lake-Lehman scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to complete a comeback in Thursday’s WVC Division 2 victory.
Wyoming Area led 4-0 after one inning at Atlas Field.
Jocelyn Williams had three hits, including a three-run homer, in the loss. Morgan Janeski added two hits and drove in the other run.
Scranton Prep 14, Wyoming Area 4
Scranton Prep won Wednesday’s non-league game at Wyoming Area in six innings.
The Lady Warriors led 2-0 after one inning, but the Classics took control with seven runs in the top of the third and finished the game off on the 10-run rule by scoring five times in the sixth.
Jocelyn Williams had two hits and scored twice for Wyoming Area.
