The league playoffs are scheduled to begin Monday with Greater Pittston playing Swoyersville at 3 p.m. at Roosevelt Field in the first round.

Manager P.J. Pisano said fielding miscues were costly in both games. They turned a one-run game into the 8-5 final margin in the bottom of the sixth inning of the first meeting and caused a 5-1 lead to get away in the second game.

Ryan Tonte, Max Mihalka and Gavin Gisolfi had the key hits in the first game then Dom Marranca and Alex Rosencrance in the second game.

Pisano praised Gianni Bartarillo’s defensive play throughout the season.
