Julian Everitt and Brody Spindler each went 3-0 Friday to make it into Saturday’s semifinals of the Neil Turner Memorial Holiday Classic at Conestoga Valley High School.

The tournament began with two brackets featuring more than 32 wrestlers and the field was trimmed to four semifinalists and four consolation-bracket survivors after the first day.

Everitt, at 152 pounds, and Spindler, at 215, were the only Patriots to make it through Friday’s action.

They were among five Patriots to win in the first round.

Everitt pinned Hayden Kephart from Philipsburg-Osceola in 2:56, then Miles Acosta from Conestoga Valley in 3:11 and Ashton Warchol from Exeter in 1:50.

Spindler pinned Montgomery’s Conor Jarrett in 2:18, shut out St. Joseph’s Prep’s John Boggs in an 11-0 major decision, and beat Central York’s Ulonnam Ukattah 3-2 in an ultimate tiebreaker.

Dominic Innamorati (145), Tibor Toth (114) and Samuel Hankey (285) were the other Patriots to win in the first round.

Innamorati came the closest to advancing to Saturday, going 3-2 with two pins and a major decision, but dropping a one-point decision with a chance to move on to the next day.

Toth went 2-2 with two pins.

Oscar Ciriaco, Jahiem Butler, Jonathan Healey, Dominic Bernardi and Chase Baron each picked up one consolation victory before being eliminated.
