Ava Menditto and Ameriana Walker each won four events Friday to lead Wyoming Area to a 118-52 victory over visiting Wyoming Valley West in a Wyoming Valley Conference boys swimming meet.
The Lady Warriors improved to 6-3 on the season.
Menditto won the 50-yard freestyle in 28.82 seconds, leading a Wyoming Area sweep of the top three places. She also won the 100 butterfly by nearly 13 seconds in 1:13.62.
Walker won by wide margins in 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.
Both were also part of wins by Wyoming Area in the 200 medley and freestyle relays.
Emma Kratz won the 100 freestyle while Mary Waters added a first place, unopposed, in diving.
Taylor Gashi was part of both relay wins while Ella McKernan was on the medley team and Ainsley Flynn was on the freestyle team.
Tunkhannock 96, Wyoming Area 85
Visiting Tunkhannock edged Wyoming Area Wednesday in a meeting of winning WVC team.
Ameriana Walker won the 100-yard backstroke and anchored the 400 freestyle relay win in the final event for Wyoming Area.
Ava Menditto, Sofia Menta and Emma Kratz were also part of the winning relay.
Tunkhannock won 10 of 12 events, but Wyoming Area kept the meet close by finishing second in seven of those 10 events.
Wyoming Seminary 59, Pittston Area 33
Wyoming Seminary, which is tied for second in the WVC with a 7-1 record, defeated visiting Pittston Area Tuesday.
The Lady Patriots are 3-5.
Shartle invitational
Kate O’Hearn from Pittston Area finished eighth out of 16 divers and led three entries for the Lady Patriots Monday when the Ernie Shartle Invitational concluded at Tunkhannock.
Swimming competition was held earlier.
