Lyla Rehill scored six goals and assisted on four others Tuesday when Wyoming Area defeated visiting Holy Redeemer 18-4 in a Wyoming Valley Conference girls lacrosse game.

Rehill also handled seven groundballs and controlled four draws.

The Lady Warriors led 4-2 after one quarter, 8-3 at halftime and 9-4 going into the last five minutes of the third quarter. Wyoming Area then scored three goals in the last 4:52 of the third and another three while shutting out Holy Redeemer in the fourth quarter.

Jules Gonzales finished with four goals, an assist, eight groundballs and three draw controls.

Addison Byers scored three times and Ava Menditto twice. Kendall Day added an assist.

Crestwood girls 13, Wyoming Area 7

Jackie Gallagher scored five goals and assisted on two others Thursday when WVC leader Crestwood defeated host Wyoming Area.

Gia Caporuscio added four goals and two assists in the win.

Lyla Rehill led Wyoming Area with four goals, 12 groundballs and six draw controls.

Jules Gonzales had two goals and eight groundballs. Addison Byers scored the other goal.

The loss left the Lady Warriors 2-4 in the WVC. They are 3-4 and sixth of 12 teams in the race for eight spots in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.

Lake-Lehman girls 18, Pittston Area 5

Lake-Lehman got goals from nine different players Tuesday while defeating visiting Pittston Area.

Ashlynn Selden scored twice and Sophia Montagna made 11 saves for the Lady Patriots (1-8).

Scranton Prep boys 22, Wyoming Area 8

Finn Kane scored five goals Monday to lead unbeaten Scranton Prep to the WVC victory over visiting Wyoming Area.

T.J. Kearns scored three goals for the Warriors, who fell to 1-4 in the conference and 2-4 overall.

Ben Byers added two goals while Aiden Hosier and Lidge Kellum had one each. Anthony Guinta made 15 saves.

Scranton Prep girls 15, Pittston Area 2

Host Scranton Prep rolled to the victory April 13.

Abington Heights girls 17, Pittston Area 0

Abington Heights won its sixth straight game to begin the season in the April 11 game.

It was the third straight day that Pittston Area lost on the road and the second of those times that the Lady Patriots fell to one of the conference’s top two teams.

Dallas boys 12, Wyoming Area 8

Jack Fleury scored four goals to lead Dallas past visiting Wyoming Area April 10.

The Warriors led 2-1 after one quarter. Dallas controlled the middle quarters for an 8-3 lead before Wyoming Area rallied with five fourth-quarter goals.

T.J. Kearns scored five goals for the Warriors. Aidan Hosier had a goal and four assists.

North Pocono girls 7, Pittston Area 4

North Pocono climbed to the .500 mark with the April 10 victory.

Wyoming Area boys 11, Dallas 9

Lyla Rehill and Addison Byers scored four goals each April 9 for Wyoming Area in the come-from-behind victory.

Dallas led 6-3 at halftime, but Rehill’s scoring and an improvement defensive performance led to the victory, the first for the Lady Warriors (1-2) in WVC play this season.

Rehill did all of her scoring in the second half, including three goals in the third quarter when Wyoming Area was taking an 8-7 lead. She also had two assists and controlled four draws.

Byers controlled five draws.

Jules Gonzales added the other three goals and controlled two draws.

Rehill had a team-high six groundballs and Byers had five.

Crestwood girls 20, Pittston Area 0

Jackie Gallagher scored five goals and three teammates also had hat tricks as the WVC leaders rolled.

Ashlynn Selden controlled three draws for Pittston Area.
