Madelyn Keating closed out the regular season at Mississippi State University by posting a new personal best in the 1500-meter run.
The freshman from Wyoming Area finished eighth out of 20 entries in the event during the Maroon and White Invitational April 27 on Mississippi State’s home track in Starkville.
In windy conditions, Keating managed a time of 4:39.25, which was more than eight seconds faster than her previous best.
The Bulldogs are off this weekend before heading to Gainesville, Fla. for the Southeastern Conference Championships.

Keating, who won multiple district titles and state running medals while at Wyoming Area, is also a member of the cross county and indoor track and field teams at Mississippi State.
