Old Forge graduate Joe Granko has been selected to play for the County in the Scranton Lions Club Dream Game July 17 at 7 p.m. at Valley View’s John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium in Peckville.
Granko is listed on the roster as a tight end, fullback and defensive end.
With the Blue Devils last season, Granko was the team’s second-leading receiver with 15 catches for 236 yards and four of his nine total touchdowns. He also ran for three scores.
Granko, playing linebacker, was the team’s defensive leader with 105 tackles, 17 tackles for losses, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, an interception and two touchdowns. He helped the Blue Devils go 3-2 in Lackawanna Football Conference Division 3 and 6-5 overall.
Riverside’s Harry Armstrong is the coach of the County team, which will include his players and graduates of Abington Heights, Carbondale, Delaware Valley, Honesdale, Lakeland, Mid Valley, Valley View, Western Wayne and Old Forge.
Kevin McHale from Dunmore will coach the City team, which includes players from his team as well as those from Holy Cross, Lackawanna Trail, North Pocono, Scranton, Scranton Prep, West Scranton, Susquehanna and Wallenpaupack.
The game, which features recent graduates of LFC teams, is presented by Northeast Rehab.
