Neither Wyoming Area nor Pittston Area were able to win a set during their Wyoming Valley Conference girls volleyball matches this week.
Wyoming Area lost twice at home to slip to 3-4 in the conference and 3-5 overall. The Lady Warriors are 10th of 12 teams trying to land eight District 2 Class 3A playoff berths.
Pittston Area lost its only match. The Lady Patriots are 2-4 in the WVC and 3-5 overall. They are ninth in the Class 3A playoff race.
Nanticoke 3, Wyoming Area 0
Nanticoke won Wednesday’s match by set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-12.
Taylor Gashi led the Lady Warriors with 10 digs, seven kills and two aces.
Kaia Brown had five digs and four aces. Addison Byers had four kills. Ava Boyle had six assists.
Dallas 3, Wyoming Area 0
Dallas downed Wyoming Area by scores of 25-14, 25-10, 25-13 Monday.
Taylor Gashi had seven digs in the loss while Madison Spittel and Kaia Brown had five, Allia Layland added four and Natalee Banashefski contributed three.
Banashefski, who served two aces, and Gashi had two kills each.
Holy Redeemer 3, Pittston Area 0
Abby Williams had nine kills and 15 service points Monday as Holy Redeemer rolled over Pittston Area 25-13, 25-6, 25-19.
