Dominic DeLuca was credited with two tackles — one solo and one assist — Thursday night when Penn State fell to Notre Dame 27-24 on a field goal in the closing seconds of the Orange Bowl, which also served as a College Football Playoff semifinal.
The redshirt junior linebacker from Wyoming Area finished the season with a career-high of 40 tackles — 21 solo and 19 assists — in 15 games.
DeLuca has been in on 98 tackles, making 10½ tackles for losses, and has intercepted five passes in 44 career games with the Nittany Lions.
Penn State (13-3) was among the final four teams in contention for a national title for the first time since various playoffs have been implemented.
