District 31 of Pennsylvania Little League will move into all-star tournament play with softball getting started first on Monday.
Greater Wyoming Area teams are part of District 31.
The tournament schedules and formats are:
Softball
Greater Wyoming Area is at Back Mountain when the Major Division tournament, for players ages 10-12, opens Monday at 6 p.m.
Northwest and Harveys Lake are the other teams in the field.
Teams play three games each to determine seeds for the June 23 semifinals. The final is set for June 27 at Nanticoke.
Greater Wyoming Area will get to host the 8-10-year-old tournament, which includes the same four programs.
GWA plays Back Mountain Thursday at 6 p.m. to begin the tournament.
Teams will be seeded for the June 25 semifinals. The final is June 29 at the Ashley Little League Complex.
Baseball
The six-team Major tournament is split into a pair of three-team divisions.
Greater Wyoming Area plays in Division 1 with Kingston/Forty Fort and Back Mountain American.
Northwest, Harveys Lake and Back Mountain National make up Division 2.
The tournament begins June 23 at 6 p.m. with GWA at Kingston/Forty Fort in one of the games.
The top two teams in each division reach the July 1 semifinals. The July 7 final will be played as part of a championship doubleheader with District 16 at Jenkins Township.
The 8-10-year-old tournament follows the same format of two divisions with the same breakdown of teams.
GWA opens at Kingston/Forty Fort June 22.
The semifinals are July 2 and the final is July 5 at West Side Little League.
GWA does not have a team entered in the 9-11-year-old playoffs, which are a best-of-three series between Back Mountain and West Side.
