Wyoming Area went 8-4 to finish tied for second in Division 2 of Wyoming Valley Conference baseball.

The Warriors wound up 12-10 overall after having their season end in the District 2 Class 4A semifinals. They beat Honesdale 2-0 in the quarterfinals then lost to Crestwood 10-0 in the semifinals.

Alex Vacula batted a team-high .400 with 19 RBI.

Jacob Snyder batted .353 and led the team with 23 runs and 22 stolen bases while also serving as the busiest member of a deep and balanced pitching staff. He struck out a team-high 33 in 23 2/3 innings.

Track and field

Pittston Area finished in the middle of Division 1 of the WVC with a 3-3 record.

Jalen Moore led the way for the Patriots. He was second in the 400-meter dash at the WVC Championship Meet while also taking third in both the 100 and 200 to help the Patriots finish seventh.

Moore, in the 400, and Caden Boettger, in the 800 run, were silver medalists in the District 2 Class 3A meet where Pittston Area placed seventh as a team.

Tennis

Wyoming Area went 6-6 in the WVC and finished 6-9 overall.

The Warriors missed the District 2 Class 2A tournament as a team, but had some success in the singles and doubles tournaments.

Luca Argenio made the semifinals of the singles tournament and in the doubles tournament where he played with Christian Abromovage.

Pittston Area played shorthanded throughout the season, forfeiting team points in matches. The Patriots went winless in 12 WVC and 13 overall matches.

Lacrosse

Wyoming Area finished 3-9 in the WVC and 3-11 overall, falling short of qualifying for the postseason.
