PITTSTON — The City of Pittston is gearing up for the 10th annual St. Patrick’s Parade on March 4, but before parade day, the 7th Annual Pub Crawl will take place on Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting at The Red Mill.
According to Sarah Donahue, Pittston St. Patrick event co-chair, the crawl has moved from Saturday night to Friday night this year.
“I really enjoy the pub crawl because it gets people excited for parade day,” Donahue explained. “People get into the spirit when they hear the Irish music of the Wyoming Valley Pipe and Drum Band. It’s great to hear the music, it’s great to see the camaraderie of the people coming out to the restaurants.”
Pub-crawlers will meet at The Red Mill, 340 S. Main St. at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. before departing to the next stop, The Knights of Columbus, 55 S. Main St. from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
The group will make the last stop at the Tomato Bar and Bistro, 7 Spring St., from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
As per tradition, the Wyoming Valley Pipe and Drum Band will accompany pub-crawlers to each stop along the route as they have in the past.
The band will perform a few Irish tunes; take a break, then play one last tune before moving on to the next stop.
If pub-crawlers are interested in getting an early start, the band will be performing at the Susquehanna Brewing Co., 635 S. Main St., Jenkins Twp. from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
The City of Pittston St. Patrick’s Parade Committee will accompany the band to all four stops.
