PITTSTON – The fifth Annual Little Miss and Little Mister Pittston Leprechaun contest has been slated for Saturday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Pittston Memorial Library’s Cosgrove Room. Registration is at 12:30 p.m.

The annual contest is open to children from 3 years old to 7 years old.

Each contestant will be asked a few questions about leprechauns and the Pittston St. Patrick’s Parade.

Sarah Donahue, co-chair of the contest, said each child participating in the contest would receive a shamrock-themed gift.

“We are currently looking for contestants for our contest,” Donahue said, who hosts the contest. “It’s been very successful in the past, and it’s a super cute contest. Even if you don’t have kids in the contest, we welcome the community to come and watch, it’s very entertaining.”

The winners will receive a sash and a trophy and will have the chance to ride in the city’s St. Patrick’s Parade on March 4.

Entry is $5 per child and parents or guardians my register their child in advance by going online to www.pittstonstpatricksparade.org. Online registration fees will be collected prior to the contest.

Those registering late may do so 30 minutes prior to the start of the contest.
