PITTSBURGH — Spilman Thomas & Battle appointed Anthony J.G. Hassey to a three-year term as a hearing committee member serving the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. His term begins July 1.

The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.

The Board assists the Supreme Court in the licensing and discipline of attorneys in Pennsylvania. Its mission is to protect the public, maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania.

He has experience arguing appeals before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

Hassey, 33, earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014 and his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 2017.

At Spilman, Hassey’s practice focuses on litigation, labor and employment law, and state and federal criminal law. He handles all facets of jury trials, bench trials, oral arguments, and arbitrations.

In addition to his legal practice, Hassey has contributed to legal publications, including the JOULE Energy and Environmental Law Journal and Juris Magazine.

Hassey is the son of Atty. Raymond Hassey, Exeter, and the late Judy Hassey.
