Aria Messner began her sophomore season at Bloomsburg University with a third-place finish in the River Hawk Invite at Susquehanna University on Jan. 17.
The sophomore from Pittston Area was entered, but then scratched from Bloomsburg’s only meet in December.
Messner’s long jump of 17-6¾ also met the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying standard. She also placed fourth in the high jump by clearing 5-0¼.
