Wyoming Area added two more Wyoming Valley Conference boys tennis victories for a 4-0 start, setting up a big week.
The Warriors host rival Pittston Area Monday then host defending champion Dallas, the other WVC team off to a 4-0 start, Wednesday.
Wyoming Area added wins this week to its earlier, first-ever victory over Wyoming Seminary.
“The team is strong, but we’re going to have to stay sharp,” coach Bill Roberts said. “The league is filled with talent this year and a lot of teams can challenge for the title.”
Although they are undefeated, the Warriors have already had a pair of 3-2 matches.
“We have a team heavy with seniors, with a lot of playing experience and talent,” Roberts said.
Dylan Stoss and Nick Winsock are each fourth-year players in their third year as a starter.
Stoss and sophomore Luca Argenio share the duties of first and second singles.
Winsock handles No. 3 singles.
The doubles lineups consist of four returning starters, all seniors. Gabe Cable is in his fourth year on the team while Eli Harding and Nick Cirelli are in their third and Braidon Kostick his second.
Gable and Kostik generally handle first doubles while Harding and Cirelli form the second doubles team.
Senior Ryan Bonin and sophomores Connor Kostik, Lukas Burakieiwicz and Christian Abromavage provide depth. Connor Kostik is in his second year in the program while the others are newcomers.
